I had a song created for my book, Phoenix Bound. It is incredibly difficult when your child leaves your home and your life forever as they get older. After putting your heart and soul into a child, we wonder if it was all in vain. Did we waste our life if they have nothing good to say about their time in our home as our son/daughter? Their trauma changes the way they perceive you as well as the world around them. Bonding is a threat to their security rather than a feeling of contentment, leaving their hearts and minds conflicted.
Recently, I was given the opportunity to have a song created for my book, PHOENIX BOUND. After raising thirteen children with trauma, I had always wanted a song written, to express our love and sacrifice for them. It was a dream come true. While the song does not reflect the outcome with some of our children, it most certainly captures our journey and our intent. The heart of PHOENIX BOUND shines through this song perfectly.
When you listen to this Phoenix Bound song, let it heal you from the inside out. I thank God for the opportunity to have adopted several children and for growing closer to Him in our journey to help our children. This song speaks of our unconditional love for them. It is our children’s choice what they do with that love and acceptance in their adult lives. They can allow their trauma to dictate the rest of their lives, or they can allow our love for them to heal them and take them to new heights.
Every time I listen to this song; I hear a different phrase that speaks to my heart the most. The words were written by Pat Rullo of SpeakUp Talk Radio and I am beyond amazed at her understanding of PHOENIX BOUND and her creative flair. It is called a Booksong, but I think it is so much more than that.
Which line of the song jumps out at you the most?
